October 2nd 1932 was when the iconic photograph was taken of the construction workers, enjoying lunch on scaffolding on the Rockefeller Centre (Center?) in New York and it is famous because it represents the 30s perfectly, as the USA was developing. Over 80 years later, such a feat would lead to arrests and convictions.
